Là dove il frastuono di un mare nero e cattivo aveva cancellato ogni armonia.
Là dove il silenzio radioattivo aveva avvolto le tombe scoperchiate, le case sventrate, le auto abbandonate.
Là dove solo le ombre, solo i fantasmi camminavano in un afono, dolente pellegrinaggio.
Là dove, ancora oggi, un alto muro impedisce all’orizzonte di riprendersi gli occhi dei viandanti.
Là, proprio là, un contrabbasso ha portato l’unico farmaco che potesse curare le anime mute e ferite: la musica.

There, where the havoc of a bad black sea had canceled all harmony.
There, where radioactive silence enveloped the exposed tombs, the gutted houses, the abandoned cars.
There, where only the shadows, only the ghosts walked in a soundless, painful pilgrimage.
There, where still today a high wall prevents the horizon from taking back the travelers’ eyes.
There, right there, a double bass brought the only medicine that could cure muted and wounded souls: music.
